Retirement...

I finally figured out what to do with all those email that are forwarded to me...share them with you! Hope you enjoy this one.

RETIREMENT Q and A
Q. When you're retired, how do you know which day of the week it is?

A. That's easy. Six Saturdays, one Sunday.

Q. When does a retiree go to bed?
A. Three hours after falling asleep on the couch.

Q. How many retirees does it take to change a light bulb?
A. Only one, but it might take all day to do it.

Q. What's the biggest gripe of retirees?
A. Not enough time to get everything done.

Q. Why don't retirees mind being called seniors?
A. Because at this stage of life that word carries a 10% discount.

Q. Among retirees, what is considered formal attire?
A. Shoes you have to tie.

Q. Why do retirees count pennies?
A. They're the only ones who have the time to do it.

Q. Why are retirees so slow to clean out the attic/basement/garage?
A. Because they know as soon as they do, one of their children or grandchildren will want to live there or store their own stuff there.

Q. What do retirees call a long lunch?
A. Normal.

Q. What's the biggest advantage of going back to school when you retire?
A. If you cut class, no one can call your parents.

Q. Why does a retiree say he or she doesn't miss the work, but misses the people he or she used to work with?
A. The retiree is just too polite to tell the whole truth.

Brrr....cold weather means it's time for soup!

and here's one of my favorites - it's easy, quick and hearty!

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
1 large can of V-8 vegetable juice
1 16 oz package of frozen mixed veggies
1 package beef ramen noodle soup mix
1 envelope onion soup mix
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In large sauce pan, brown ground beef and drain. Add all the other ingredients and simmer until noodles & veggies are cooked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That's it! This one is so easy we even make it in a crock pot at work. Serve with fresh bread and a slice of cheese...yummy!

Alternate uses for coffee filters

I love coffee....and always have coffee filters around. Do you? If so, here are some alternate used for coffee filters. Coffee filters..who knew! And you can buy 1,000 at the Dollar Tree for almost nothing.

1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.
2. Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.
3. Protect China . Separate your good dishes by putting a coffee filter between each dish.
4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter. Or if you make your own from crushed grapes..And want to filter your wine..this would do .
5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.
6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.
7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.
8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.
9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.
10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.
11. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.
12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters.
13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken .&..butch..this holiday season.. fingers, etc on them. Soaks out all the grease.
14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers." or a-- wipe?? . . . Being that it is soooo absorbant..
